CANDLE CARE

How do you take care of coconut soy candles?

Each candle includes care and lighting instructions on the bottom label. Candles add a fragrant enhancement to living and work spaces and are safe to enjoy, but we encourage care and attention to the following guidelines:

  • First Burn: When you first light your candle, allow the wax to melt all the way to the outer edges of the container. Allowing a full melt pool guarantees an even burn (no tunneling) and maximum scent throw.
  • Maximum Session Burn Times: Never burn a candle for longer than four hours at a time. If a candle is burnt for excessive periods without being allowed to re-solidify, the excessive heat will cause the essential oil to burn out faster than it should.
  • Candle Storage: To ensure your candles are kept in optimum condition, keep them out of direct sunlight and store them in a cool, dark place.
  • Wick: We use wooden wicks. To provide the cleanest burn possible, trim your cotton wick to ¼ inch with a wick trimmer before lighting.
  • Safety: Do not leave candles unattended and place away from children and pets. Always place candles on a heat-resistant base, and set on a leveled and stable surface.

How Do I Store My Candles?

Proper storage helps preserve the quality, fragrance, and performance of your candle. Follow these tips:

1. Keep Away from Direct Sunlight

• Prolonged exposure to sunlight can fade the color of your candle and weaken its fragrance. Store it in a cool, shaded area.

2. Avoid Extreme Temperatures

• Heat: High temperatures can cause the wax to soften or melt, distorting the candle’s shape.

• Cold: Extreme cold can cause the wax to crack or separate from the container.

3. Protect the Wick

• Cover your candle with its lid or store it in a container to keep the wick free of dust and debris. This ensures a clean burn when you light it.

4. Choose the Right Spot

• Opt for a cool, dry area such as a cabinet, drawer, or shelf. Avoid areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms, as moisture can affect the wax and wick.

How to Recycle or Repurpose Your Ceramic Candle Vessel

1. Clean Out the Wax:

• Place the candle in the freezer for a few hours. This will make the remaining wax hard and easy to remove.

• Gently scrape out the wax with a spoon or dull knife.

• For stubborn residue, pour hot water into the vessel and let the wax float to the top. Once cooled, discard the wax.

2. Wash Thoroughly:

• Wash the vessel with warm, soapy water to remove any leftover wax or soot.

• Avoid using abrasive cleaners to prevent scratching the ceramic.

Ways to Repurpose Your Ceramic Vessel

1. Plant Pot

• Use it as a planter for small succulents, herbs, or houseplants. Add pebbles at the bottom for drainage.

2. Desk Organizer

• Store pens, pencils, or other office supplies.
